THE NEW PRESIDENT

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The choice of Miss Ada L. Comstock as President of Radcliffe College makes an announcement of interest and satisfaction to all those concerned with the affairs both of Radcliffe and the University. The new head is a graduate of Smith, and has been dean of that college since 1921.

The extensive growth of Radcliffe in the last twenty years, has given to its president a position whose importance is increased in proportion with the responsibility entailed. The selection of Dean Comstock, consequently, is particularly fortunate, in that she will be able to devote her entire interests and energy to the college, whereas Dean Briggs, the retiring president, was forced to divide his time. The words which he uses in speaking of her are especially appropriate: "Dean Comstock brings to her new office a well-earned reputation for reasonableness, integrity, wisdom, and courage. Radcliffe is more than fortunate in securing her."
