In a practice game yesterday the University quintet defeated the Freshman team by the score of 45-22. The University kept the lead consistently throughout the game and finished the first half in the lead 16-9.
The Freshman forwards were pretty well covered by the University guards during the game and were not very effective. Smith, who has been starring for the Freshmen, was not able to tally his free throws as well as usual, and Maher was the star of the game, combining effective defense with the highest individual score for his team. On the Crimson quintet McLeish played forward in place of Lowenthal, whose foot was injured. In the latter part of the game Gordon played center with Stevens at left forward, the combination working well. Gordon led the scoring for the University.
