FRESHMEN WIN FIRST MATCH

1926 Wrestlers Defeat M. I. T. Freshmen 17-5--Captain Stearns Only Man to Win by Fall for Crimson

The Freshman wrestlers allowed their opponents, the M. I. T. Freshmen, only one bout out of six in the first match of the season last Saturday afternoon in the Freshman Athletic Building, winning by a final score of 17-5.

Captain Carl Stearns '26 was the only Crimson man to win by a fall, when he pinned down Cummings of the visitors in an overtime struggle. Three extra periods were necessary to decide about in favor of Leo Schwarz '26 over Captain Lutz in the 145-pound class.

115-lb. Class.--B. J. Goldberg '26 defeated Powers by decision.

125-lb. Class.--Carl Stearns '26 (capt.) defeated Cummings by fall. Time, 1m. 27s. overtime.

135-lb. Class.--Drum defeated H. P. Norman '26 by fall. Time, 3m.

145-lb. Class.--Leo Schwarz '26 defeated Lutz (capt.) by decision. Time 1m. 25s. overtime.

158-lb. Class.--H. B. Molholm '26 defeated Jacobson by decision.

175-lb. Class.--Forfeited by M. I. T. for failure to produce candidate.
