Coach Slattery Put Baseball Squad Through Initial Practice in Cage--Only Two Lettermen Report

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Twenty-five candidates for infield and outfield positions on the baseball team reported to Coach Slattery yesterday afternoon in the cage. After a light warming-up the candidates were given an extended batting practice, several pitchers working in relays. A short fielding practice ended the first days work.

J. S. Clark Jr. '23 and D. F. Thayer '23 were the only members of last year's team to report. Later the squad will be strengthened by Captain George Owen Jr. '23 and J. H. Hammond '25 who are now devoting their time to hockey, and Lewis Gordon '24 and A. W. Samborski '25 who are still playing basketball.
