University Basketball Team Gains Victory When Substitute Forward Cages Six Baskets in as Many Minutes--Final Score Is 37-31

Displaying a speedy attack and an efficient defense, the Crimson quintet defeated Rhode Island State University last night by a score of 37 to 31.

The game early resolved itself into a fast passing attack on the part of both teams. D. Haslam scored the first basket for the visitors, but the University soon overcame Rhode Island's lead, and the scoring was about even throughout the first half. The beginning of the second half found the Crimson with a lead of one point. Lowenthal, who had been substituted for Gordon between the halves, gave the University five a substantial lead that remained until the end of the game, when he scored six field goals in as many minutes.

Captain Gordon and Lowenthal starred for the University, while McLeish scored five of a possible eight shots from the foul line. For the visitors the tallying was more evenly divided
