CLASS DAY COMMITTEE MAKES ARRANGEMENTS

Certain members of the Senior Class Day Committee, of which Russell Robh Jr. in chairman, were yesterday oppointed to special positions in connection with the Class Day exercises. Winthrop Hall owell Churchill of Milton was elected treasurer; Justin Hanley Dempsey, of Boston was put in charge of the Senior Spread, with Duncan Forbes Thayer, of Lancaster, as his assistant; Henry Wadsworth Clark, of Ketchikan, Alaska, was made Master of the College Yard for Class Day; Philip Elder Wilson, of East Gloucester, was placed in charge of the arrangements in connection with Sanders Theatre and Appleton Chapel; and Morris Duane, of Philadelphia, Pa., was given the supervision of the Stadium exercises.

Caps and Gowns at Cooperative

Arrangements have been made by the Committee to have members of the class of 1923 measured for caps and gowns at the Cooperative Society. The contract for manufacturing has been awarded to Cotrell and Leonard of Albany, N. Y., and this will be the only firm officially recognized by the Committee. The Cooperative will represent this company in Cambridge and will attend to all arrangements for ordering and delivering the garments.

From May 1 on, Seniors are required to wear caps and gowns every morning until 1 o'clock. Class officers will be distinguished by a red tassel and braid. The Committee is especially anxious that class officers and members of the Phi Beta Kappa be measured promptly, as caps and gowns are worn when their group pictures are taken for the Senior Album. Owing to the large number of orders which have to be filled, an incentive for early measurement is offered, since after March 31 the price of the complete outfit will be advanced to $9.50 as against $9 before that date.

Opportunity for Ticket Designs

The Committee also wishes to draw the attention of Seniors to competitions for the Class Day ticket designs and for the words of the Baccalaureate Hymn. All Seniors possessing ability along these lines are urgently requested by the Committee to enter these competitions.

The designs for the tickets should be simple so that the reproductions will be clear. They should be made on white paper in black India ink, and should be four and one half by seven and one-half inches in size. The designs must bear the following words respectively:

Yard Tickets.--"Harvard Class Day 1923. Admit one to the Yard. 2-11 P. M. June 19".

Stadium Tickets.--"Harvard Class Day 1923. Stadium exercises 4 P. M., June 29".

Memorial Tickets.--"Harvard Class Day 1923. Admit one to Memorial Hall. 8-11 P. M., June 19".

The words for the Hymn should be set to some familiar tune, such as "Integer Vitae" or "Ten Thousand Times Ten Thousand".

Any competitor who wishes more information should communicate with Russell Robb Jr. at Grays 23. Words for the Hymn and ticket designs should be sent to him before Saturday, March 17. Three Class Day tickets will be given to the winners.
