CRIMSON QUINTET STAGES LAST MINUTE RALLY TO BAFFLE M. A. C. BY 23-20

Although outplayed throughout the first half, the University basketball team surged ahead in the closing minutes of play to a 23 to 20 victory over Massachusetts Agricultural College's quintet last night in the Hemenway Gymnasium. During the rally the Crimson five exhibited the most brilliant basketball that they have shown this season.

The Aggies took the lead at the starting whistle and held it throughout the first period. Coach Wachter's men employed the time in locating the weak sports in the visitors five-man defense and confined their efforts to passing in and around the opposing team without much scoring. Sipp replaced Miller at center and Merriam went in for Gordon just long enough to shoot one of the Crimson's two baskets that were scored during the half. The other count was made by Captain Gordon in a short rally before the end of the half. The fast floor work and excellent dribbling by both teams featured the period, which ended with M. A. C. leading 9 to 6

Crimson Opens Attack

The Crimson quintet opened up on the Aggies basket from the opening whistle of the second half, with Lewen that starring. Barrows matched the University rally with three baskets for the M. A. C. five. Merriam played an excellent game at forward, repeatedly taking the ball from the opponents and covering his man well McLeish played throughout the game, shooting the fours for the University five. The final whistle blew with the ball in mid-air on a shot by Lowenthal from the center of the floor that landed squarely in the basket for a score.
