Freshmen Display Pretty Team-Work in Defeating Milton in Sixth Consecutive Victory--Teams on Even Terms Till Last Period

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Showing a great improvement in team-work and checking-back, the Freshman hockey team scored its sixth straight victory yesterday, defeating Milton Academy 5 to 1 at Milton.

Milton proved to be the strongest team that the Freshmen have met this season. The game was fast and exciting throughout, Milton keeping within one goal of the Freshmen until the last few minutes. Although the ice was good and the playing fast, no substitutions were made except at goal.

After eight minutes of the initial period had passed, Pratt scored the first goal for the Freshmen from the middle of the rink on a pass from Howe. At the beginning of the second period he tallied again on a shot from a scrimmage in front of the goal. A few minutes later Chase scored Milton's only goal on a well executed pass from Putnam. During the last four minutes of the game, the Freshmen made a spurt and scored three more goals. Harding and Henderson both counted after long individual dashes up the ice, while the latter also scored on a shot from scrimmage.

Milton Skaters Fast

The Milton team was composed of very fast skaters, who shot and checked back extremely well. Chase on the offense and Captain Saltonstall on the defense were their most out-standing players. For the Freshmen, Henderson, playing his first game as a regular, proved himself steady and reliable.

The summary:
