DIXON DEFEATS FOSTER IN SQUASH TITLE MATCH

Captain of University Team Captures Fall Championship in Straight Sets--Score is 15-10, 17-15, 15-10

Outplaying his opponent during the entire match, W. P. Dixon '25, captain of the University squash team, yesterday defeated Lawrence Foster 3L in straight sets, 15-10, 17-15, 15-10 and thereby won the University fall squash title.

Dixon's success may be attributed to his customary ability in keeping his opponent racing about the court, while keeping himself in its center, and to his drop shots, which glided up to the front wall, struck it just above the tell-tale and usually bounced twice before the agile Foster could get in position. Foster's falling was in his inability to handle the ball in the back corners and side wall. Both men became winded, but Foster much more than Dixon, who displayed a self-confidence that helped him win.

In the opening of the second set, Foster threatened. He started serving and took five points before Dixon stopped his run. In the last game Dixon quite outclassed Foster and won 15-10. The entire match required 35 minutes.
