WILL DISCUSS SOUND AT SCIENCE SYMPOSIUM

The second Science Symposium on the general subject of "Sound" will be given tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock in Emerson D. Three University professors, F. A. Saunders of the Physics Department, G. H. Parker '87 of the Zoology Department, and A. T. Davison '06 of the Music Department, will discuss the question of "Sound" from three different angles. Professor Saunders will present the physical fundamentals of sound by speaking on "Vibrations and the Theory of Sound" and will illustrate by means of experiments; Professor Parker will discuss "Production and Reception of Animal Sound;" and Dr. Davison will speak on "Harmony and Noise."

The symposium tomorrow evening is open to the public and is being given under the auspices of the University chapter of Gamma Alpha, the national graduate science society. The first symposium on "The Origin of Life," November 6, was attended by as many that Emerson D could not accommodate them and an overflow meeting was held in Emerson D. the speakers leaving Emerson D as each finished his address and giving it again in Emerson J.
