After several changes in dates, it was definitely announced on Saturday at the H. A. A. that the first Harvard Indoor Interscholastic Track Meet will be held on the afternoon of February 16 in Mechanics Building, Boston. Preliminary invitations to compete were sent out on Saturday to the various high schools of Massachusetts and the preparatory schools of New England, and entry blanks will be mailed within a few weeks. The entering teams will be subdivided into four groups for competition. The events for each group will include 40 yard dashes and hurdles, 300, 600, and 1000 yard runs, relays, and indoor field events.
This is the first time that such an indoor meet for secondary schools has been attempted at Harvard. It is expected, however, that it will become an annual affair in the future, similar to the spring indoor interscholastic meet.
