The University squash team Saturday defeated 3-2 the Union Boat Club, a quintet which has been unbeaten for the last two years and which during that time has held the Massachussetts Squash Racquets championship. The University won its victory despite the fact that the match was played on the Union Boat Club Courts, to which the Crimson men were unaccustomed. Individual interest reached its height in the second match. Here, C. J. Lennihan of the Union Boat had G. D. Debevoise by two games and a score of 7-2 in the third, when the latter turned the tables, finished the game a 15-9 winner, and then took the last two games, 15-9, 15-8, winning the set.

The summary: Dixon defeated Howe (U. B. C.), 15-10, 9-15, 15-3, 15,12; Debevoise defeated Lennihan (U. B. C.), 12-15, 5-15, 15-9, 15-9, 15-8; Marlow (U. B. C.) defeated Harrington, 15-12, 15-10, 15-12: Glessner defeated Olmstead (U. B. C.), 10-15, 15-8, 15-11, 15-9; Sides (U. B. C.) defeated Upjohn, 16-13, 17-16, 19-15.

Carpenter and DuBois were the only two University winners in the Class B match Saturday, which resulted in the Harvard Club of Boston team gaining a 3-2 victory over the University second team. Rose, number one man on the Crimson team, caused a surprise when he was beaten by Watson of the Harvard Club.

The summary: Watson (H. C.) defeated Rose, 10-15, 15-10, 12-15, 18-17, 17-14; Carpenter defeated Boggs (H. C.), 17-18, 11-15, 15-4, 15-9, 15-10; DuBois defeated Eaton (H. C.), 15-12, 15-4, 9-15, 15-10; Esterbrook (H. C.) defeated Finley, 15-13, 12-15, 18-16, 15-13; Blackall (H. C.) defeated Roots, 16-15, 16-15, 11-15, 15-10.

The yearling team, playing the first match since its formation, lost 1-4 Saturday to the second team of the Tennis and Racquet Club on the courts in the Freshman Athletic Building. Rawlins victory over Belnap was the only Freshman triumph, in every other set but this the experienced player winning from the novice.

The summary: Rawlins defeated Belnap (T. R.), 15-12, 15-10, 15-9; Stubbs (T. R.) defeated Lenhart, 16-15, 15-19, 19-15, 2-15, 15-10; Gammel (T. R.) defeated Jackson, 15-9, 15-9, 15-12; Washburn (T. R.) defeated Merriman, 15-6, 14-17, 15-11, 15-11: Rubbard (T. R.) defeated Wister, 15-10, 15-8, 15-12.

The University fall squash racquets title will be at stake this afternoon at 4.30 o'clock, when W. P. Dixon '25, captain of the University squash team meets Lawrence Foster 3L in the University Squash Courts building.

Coach Harry Cowles will referee the match, Provided that the courts are in a dry condition, Dixon and Foster should give an excellent exhibition of squash this afternoon since Dixon is number one man on the University team and Foster number two on the Lincoln Inn Team of the University Law School.
