Old Engravings on Exhibit at Fogg

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

An unusual collection of fifteenth century engravings, rich in both historical and aristic significance, is on exhibition in the Print Room of the Fogg Art Museum. These extraordinary studies in form and line are not the least among the art productions of Italy.

Of greatest artistic value are five of the seven extant Mantegnas, with two impressions of the Battle of the Sea-Gods, and Poliainolo's Battle of Naked Men, together with the drawing for it.

Among other Venetians there are Morcetto with his Baptism of Christ and a number of Amillo Campagnola's soft chiaroscuro-like prints.

The prints will remain on exhibition for several weeks.
