The organization of the Student Friendship drive for $5000 to relieve European students was announced last night by the Student Council through F. T. Baldwin '24, chairman of the drive. The Council has named the chairmen of committees in charge of collectors in the various parts of the University, and has outlined the method of collection which will be used. The drive will start on Monday, January 7, and will last through Friday, January 11.
W. C. Ladd '26 will be sub-chairman of the drive for the entire University. The following are the district chairmen and their districts: G. P. Baker '25, Yard dormitories, M. A. Cheek '26, Mount Auburn Street dormitories, and J. R. Burke '27, Freshman dormitories. In charge of collection in the graduate schools have been appointed: D. P. Kingsley 3L, Law School; W. A. Shimer 2G, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences; B. P. B. Chadbourne 4Dn, Dental School; F. R. Parks 3M, Medical School; G. L. Paine 2S.A., Architectural School; P. A. Cullens 2 T. S., Divinity School; and D. F. Cameron 2G.B., Business School. The Graduate School of Education will be for the present under W. A. Shimer 2G, chairman for the School of Arts and Sciences. Assistant Professor J. B. Conant '14 will be chairman of the committee which will solicit the faculty for subscriptions.
Throughout the college, student collectors, to be appointed soon by the chairmen of the committees will make a room to room canvass. This same method will be followed wherever possible in the graduate schools. In other cases where this is impossible the committees will solicit subscriptions by letter.
