J. F. W. Whitbeck '27 defeated E. M. Upjohn '25 in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, 6-4, and won the singles championship of the Union tennis tournament yesterday afternoon on the Divinity Courts. Both players resorted to a driving game and used lobs but little. Upjohn showed the edge with his service, but his inability to keep up to Whitbeck's steady game, cost him the match. Whitbeck on several occasions double faulted.
