About 40 men are expected to sign up for the annual Union pool and billiard tournament which is scheduled to start Thursday, November 15. Of this number 25 men have already signed, 14 in the elimination pool tournament and 11 in the billiard tournament.

D. B. Wilson '25, who last year won the championship not only in the billiard but also in the pool tournament, is not expected to compete this year. Individual stars are not, however, lacking. At billiards, I. S. Steinberg '25 is playing a fast balk line game, and in pool Isadore Shapiro Oec., who won the pool championship two years ago, is shooting in excellent form. According to "Ben" Laurie, professional player at the Union in charge of the two tournaments, on several occasions Shapiro has cleaned the table on a single turn of all 15 balls after they have been broken. He also stated that 25 to 40 runs in the 18 inch balk line billiards has not been unusual in the playing of those who intend to compete.

There is a first and second prize in each tournament. A cup will be awarded to the winner and a cue to the runner-up.
