INTERNATIONAL ASSEMBLY TO DISCUSS SUBMARINES

"The Use of Submarines in War" is the subject which the International Assembly will discuss at its next meeting on December 11. The place of meeting has not been set as yet, but an attempt to secure either a room in the Union or Smith Halls Common Room is being made.

N. H. Field '25, delegate from Switzerland, is preparing a short list of restrictions which he believes should be placed on the use of submarines and this list he will present for revision and ratification to a committee.

The procedure of the Fifth Formal Sitting of the Assembly will vary slightly from meetings heretofore in that as soon as the delegates have placed the motion in a final form, the discussion will be opened to all members of the Assembly. Folowing this discussion the delegates will vote on the motion.

Since the last sitting of the Assembly on November 23, the number of delegates to the organization has more than doubled. Because of more than one applicant from the state of Esthonia, Greece, Hondurus, Mexico, and Spain, a delegate from each has not as yet been selected, but this will be done before the next sitting.

A recent constitutional amendment permits the admission as a delegate a person outside the University, when the University has no student from the outsider's country.

The Assembly's secretariat calls attention to the fact that its membership is not limited to those who can represent a foreign state but is open to all members of the University.
