A meeting of all candidates for the Freshman basketball team in the Freshman Gymnasium at 5 o'clock this afternoon will be the first step in preparation for the initial game of the season with the Boston Y. M. C. A. on January 5.
The meeting will be addressed by University Coach Wachter, who will explain the basketball system in use now at the University, and also by S. B. Chase 3L., who has been appointed for the second time to coach the Freshman team. Regular practice will also start this afternoon and will continue until Christmas.
The Freshman managership competition will begin today also with a meeting of all manager candidates at 1.05 o'clock in Stoughton 15. The competition for second assistant manager of the University team will not start until January 8.
