An enthusiastic send off from the Freshman class last night, and the last minute news that Captain Daley and Zarakov may be able to start against the Yale Freshmen tomorrow, sent the Freshman football team on their way to New Haven with renewed confidence and determination.
The 30 members of the Freshman squad who are to make the trip, together with Coaches Campbell and Clarke, and J. R. Burke, manager of the team, will leave the South Station on the 10 o'clock train this morning. Reaching New Haven at 2 o'clock, the team will try out the Yale Freshman gridiron in a light practice from 2.30 o'clock until 3.30 before decamping to Derby for the night.
At the last work out yesterday afternoon, the regular Freshman team lined up for a rapid signal drill with the exception of Captain Daley and Zarakov, who were still limping on the side lines. Although considerably improved, both men are still in too uncertain a condition to risk before the Freshmen finally line up against the Yale Freshmen at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning. In their absence in yesterday's line-up, Porter alternated for Daley at right tackle and Stewart for Zarakov at right halfback. The remaining members of the team are in good condition. Miller and Coady were both running through signals, in spite of their recent injuries and the first string line, with the exception of Daley, was intact.
According to the line-up announced last night by Coach Campbell, the team which will start against the undefeated Yale Freshmen will be as follows; left end, Robinson; left tackle, Kilgour; left guard, Savory; center, Bond; right guard, Platt; right tackle, Daley; right end, Dean; quarterback, Hamlen; left halfback, Miller; right halfback, Zarakov; fullback, Coady.
