The University soccer team easily captured its opening game Saturday afternoon on Soldiers Field when it overwhelmed Northeastern University by a 7 to 2 score. The Crimson team showed a clear superiority in its initial game, and gives promise of being a strong contender for the League championship.
Northeastern forced the pace at the beginning and scored two goals in the first period, to the Crimson's four. The second half, however, was all in the University's favor, with Brooks starring on the defense and the forward line showing fine combination, Wright, Lamont, and Dorman collecting goals.
The line-up follows: Goals Dorman 3, Lamont 2, Ogden, Kuplea, Eldridge and Wright. Referee A. H. Patterson, Sheldon Time, Two time periods.
