UNIVERSITY PRESS HAS TWO BOOKS BY FACULTY MEMBERS

New Works of Professors Allard and Greene on Presses Now

Two new books by members of the University faculty are to be published on October 25 by the Harvard University Press it was learned yesterday from Mr. D. T. Pottinger '06, sales manager of the press.

Professor Louis Allard, of the department of Romance languages has prepared one of the volumes. It is entitled "La Comedie des Moeurs au XIXe Siecle", and will be the fourth volume in a series of Harvard Studies in Romance Languages which is being published by the University Press.

"The Achievement of Greece: a Chapter in Human Experience" is the title of the second book, written by Professor William Chase Greene '11, of the classical department. In this book Professor Greene who has lived in Greece for some time discusses all the aspects of ancient Greek life,--its geography, history, philosophy, art, sciences, literature and religion. From this he seeks to show the permanent elements in Greek civilization which have contributed to the progress of the world.
