COACH CAMPBELL MAKES FIRST PROMOTION TO FRESHMAN SQUAD

Putnam, a Backfield Candidate, Raised from Dormitory Team

In conformation of his statement that men were not definitely cut from the first Freshman football squad, but merely transferred to lower squads on trial, Coach Campbell yesterday promoted H. W. Putnam to the first Freshman squad. Putnam, who had been dropped from the squad on Monday, is a backfield candidate.

Coach Campbell expects that this is but the first of several reinstatements to the Freshman Squad. He has especially instructed all coaches of the dormitory football squads to report to him any man whose work seems to merit promotion.
