BLACK SHIRTS FARE BADLY IN STADIUM

At five o'clock yesterday afternoon, the Stadium gates opened to receive the entire horde of Coach Knox's second squad for a forty-five minute scrimmage.

A first team squad consisting of Crosby and Hill at ends, Dunker and Eastman as tackles, Captain Hubbard and Littlefield at guards, Kernan at center, and a backfield with Lee, Pfaffmann, Coburn and Jenkins, was lined up to meet the black jerseyed invaders.

The scrimmage started in the center of the field with the ball in the possession of the first squad. Jenkins started events with a long run through left tackle which ended on the fifteen yard line. Three more downs, and again Jenkins took the ball and carried it over the second team line. Pfaffmann kicked the goal.

The goals were then reversed, and the first team started a steady march back to the second team's thirty-five yard line. Here Pfaffmann tried for a goal from the field. The ball was fumbled and then recovered again by the University team.

McGlone was sent in as quarterback. He engineered his team to within striking distance of the second team goal, carried the ball over himself on a 15 yard run around end for the second and last touchdown of the afternoon and then kicked the goal.

The regulars gave way to the substitutes on both squads, and scrimmaging continued until nearly six o'clock. The heavy wind that eddied down the stadium prevented any forward passing and greatly hampered any attempts at kicking.
