The Andover soccer team came down to Soldier's Field yesterday afternoon and captured an unexpectedly easy 3-0 victory from the 1927 team. The Freshman backfield was not able to put up a strong enough defense against the fast Andover forwards, while the Blue team showed unusual ability in breaking up the Crimson attack. Captain Gherardi of the Freshman showed flashes of brilliancy on the offense, but he was never properly supported.
Holt, at inside right, scored the first goal from scrimmage soon after the opening of the game. The second score, made toward the end of the period, was also Holt's, the result of a long kick, and Tseng accounted for the third score when, he sent a free kick under the bar at the start of the second half.
The lineup was as follows: Goals-Holt 2, Tseng. Substitution-Dunne for MacKinnon, Poore for Sampre, MacKinnon for Dunne, Smith for Poore. Time-2 30 minute periods. Referee-William Andrew.
