Professor James W. McBain of the University of Bristol, England, will speak in Boylston 9 at 4.30 o'clock this afternoon. His subject will be "Adsorption and Sorption". Professor McBain delivered the address at the dedication of the new Brown University Chemical Laboratory and delivered a course of lectures there for two weeks.
Professor McBain holds the professorship for colloidal chemistry established by Lord Leverhulme. He has gained the reputation of being the greatest living authority on colloidal chemistry.
This evening he will address a meeting of the New England section of the American Chemical Society at the Engineers' Club on Commonwealth Avenue, Boston.
Before returning to England Professor McBain will speak at Yale, Princeton, and one or two smaller colleges.
