HOCKEY SCRUBS DEFEATED

Are Downed for First Time This Year by Rindge Technical School in 2 to 1 Game--Teams Evenly Matched

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University second hockey team suffered its first defeat of the season at the hands of the Rindge Technical School yesterday afternoon at the Charlesbank rinks, losing by a 2 to 1 score. Both teams were very evenly matched and the winning goal was not scored until late in the third period.

The first score came in the first period on a shot by Pochler on a pass from Marchini. Reid tied the score a few moments later when he tallied on a pretty shot from the middle of the rink. The deadlock continued throughout the second period, and it was only during the last few minutes of play that Captain Sweeney, after a long dash up the rink, caged on a short ahead and won the game for the schoolboys.

The Crimson players showed a slight improvement in teamwork but failed to gain an advantage from this on account of poor and inaccurate shooting. For Rindge, Captain Sweeney played a very good game, breaking up many Crimson attacks.
