SECURE REMBRANDT PORTRAIT FOR SHORT EXHIBIT AT FOGG

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A portrait by Rembrandt was yesterday placed on exhibition in the main room on the second floor of the Fogg Art Museum, where it will remain only a short time. It is dated 1643 and represents an old lady seated in an armchair holding a book. The concensus of expert critical opinion holds that this portrait is one of the finest Rembrandts in this country.

The canvas is a loan from Sir Joseph Duveen, who has made numerous loans and gifts to the Museum.
