CAMBRIDGE LATIN SCHOOL VICTIMS OF '26 SEXTET

Speedy Game on Excellent Ice Nets 3-0 Victory for Yearlings--Marked Improvement in Team Work Shown by Freshmen

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A great improvement in team-work, combined with excellent shooting, enabled the Freshman hockey team to gain a hard-earned victory by a 3 to 0 score over the Cambridge Latin team at the Charlesbank Rinks yesterday afternoon. The ice was in very good condition, making the game fast and exciting. The Crimson players at times had four men on the forward line, massing players near their opponent's goal.

Having had only two days of practice together this year, the schoolboys, although lacking in team-work, showed a good defence and an offence which at times seriously threatened the Freshman goal. They were good skaters and used their fine stick-work to advantage. James, one of the fastest skaters seen on the Charlesbank Rinks this season, was the outstanding star on the visiting team. Captain Smith, played well at goal.

In the first period neither side scored, although the Freshmen had a number of shots at goal. Cambridge Latin showed its best form in this period, threatened on numerous occasions. During the second period, C. L. Harding scored the first goal for the Freshmen. In the last period, the schoolboys weakened and were scored on twice more. Harding made another goal and from a long shot by him, Nash caged again on a rebound.

Harding showed himself to be the best player on the ice, skating and shooting extremely well. E. K. Nash showed a good knowledge of the defence system. Bradford at goal played his usual brilliant game.
