The Honorable W. Cameron Forbes '92, Governor-General of the Philippine Islands during the administration of President Taft, will speak before the Liberal Club at 7.15 o'clock tonight on "The Philippines". The lecture will be open to all members of the University.
Mr. Forbes believes that the United States should not grant complete independence to the Philippines at the present time. From 1904-1908 Mr. Forbes was a member of the Philippine Commission and Secretary of Commerce and Police in the Government of the islands. He was appointed Vice-Governor in 1908, holding this office until November, 1909. He then received from President Taft the appointment as Governor-General.
