To Speak on "Criticism of Tendencies in Modern Verse"--Winner of Garrison Prize for Poetry in 1916

Mr. R. S. Hillyer '17, a prominent poet and an instructor in the University, will address members of the English 28 Club and their guests this evening at 7.30 o'clock in the Smith Halls Common Room. The subject will be a "Criticism of the tendencies in modern verse", and the speaker will supplement his points with readings from his own poetry. Mr. Hillyer has recently published a volume entitled. "The Hills Give Promise", while his three Spenserian sonnets, "To them that defended", won the Garrison prize for poetry in 1916.
