Assistant Dean David M. Little '18 has accepted the invitation to preside at the next meeting of the Conservative and Progressive Clubs, comprising the Harvard Debating Union, which will be held on Thursday, January 18 at 7.15 o'clock in the Faculty Room of the Union.
The Conservative Club which will speak first, supporting the passage of the Jones Ship Subsidy Bill, will be represented by H. C. Lodge Jr. '24 and Oliver La Farge '24. F. A. O. Schwarz '24, and J. D. Du Bois '24 will oppose the bill, speaking for the Progressive Club. Following these scheduled speeches the meeting will be thrown open for participation by the members of the opposing wings and finally by men from the floor.
The executive committee of the Debating Union has decided to grant the privilege to any one of leaving at any time during the progress of the debate.
A preliminary meeting of the Conservative Club will be held early in the week to decide further details concerning the coming debate.
