COACH MARTIN WILL RETURN TODAY TO START ACTIVE WORK

Will Begin Extensive Training Immediately--Aptitude of Novices Surprises Coach Farrell

With the return of head coach C. W. Martin today, the winter track season will start in earnest. Although practice for both University and Freshman squads has been held daily for the past week under the direction of Coach Farrell, the work has been light, it being deemed wise not to attempt anything strenuous until the arrival of the head coach.

Both Coach Farrell and Captain J. W. Burke '23 are greatly impressed by the large squad which has reported daily since practice started last week. "Stress has been laid chiefly on attaining perfect form and good condition," said Coach Farrell yesterday, "and it is surprising the way even the green material is rounding into shape. The chief deficiency of the team lies in the field events and dashes, but all other events have an abundance of material."
