The qualification rules for the single scull, compromise, and wherry races in the annual Invitation Regatta, to be held this year from May 17 to May 20, were announced yesterday by the crew management. Unless otherwise indicated, all of these races are open to members of the University.
The wherry race scheduled for May 17 is particularly intended for Freshmen who are taking wherry rowing for their regular exercise. Four races are scheduled for single scullers--the novice, Junior and Senior singles, and the Carroll Challenge Cup race on May 18. The first two events are limited to those who have never won a prize in those contests.
Similar rules are prescribed for eligibility in the compromise, double scull, and pair-oar races, while class or dormitory crews wishing to enter the race on May 19 must first get permission to do so from their coaches.
All men desiring to enter the regatta must sign up at Leavitt and Peirce's by Tuesday, May 9. Further information may be obtained from F. T. Baldwin '24 in Randolph 53.
