8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
Sixteen hits were responsible for the Freshman nine's 10-7 victory over the Holy Cross yearlings on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. Though he walked six men Herman exhibited flashes of brilliant box work, striking out three men in the sixth and getting himself out of several difficult holes. Hammond played a large part in the yearlings rally with a triple, a double, and two singles.
The Freshmen lost little time in starting their score for Doherty's two-base hit in the first brought Toulmin across the plate. Triples by Burgess and Hammond and a single by Toulmin coupled with an error added three more runs in the next inning, while another two runs were scored for the yearlings in the third.
The line-ups:
Harvard 1925.--Burgess, l.f.; Toulmin, 3b.; Hammond, 2b.; Samborski, c.; Doherty, l.f.; Vocke, lb.; Man, s.s.; Hodder, r.f.; Herman, p.; Rose, r.f.; Kerr batted for Hodder in eighth.
Holy Cross 1925.--Shea. c.f.; Murray, s.s.; Broussard, l.f.; O'Conner, lb.; Bowker, r.f.; Farrell, 3b.; O'Keefe, 2b.; Steffens, c.; Ryan, p.
