UNIVERSITY NINE WILL OPPOSE CORNELL TODAY

Visitors Defeated Princeton 5-2 and Navy 5-4--Strong Battery and Veteran Infield Responsible for Six Victories Out of the Nine Games Played

The strong Cornell nine will meet the University on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 4 o'clock in what promises to be one of the closest games of the season.

The visitors have played nine games with college teams this season, losing to Virginia, Georgetown, and Columbia. On May 6 they won from Princeton 5 to 2, and on Saturday they defeated Syracuse 3 to 2. They have also won from Johns Hopkins, the Navy, and took one game from Virginia.

Rollo, who pitched the entire Princeton game and kept the few Tiger hits well scattered, will probably face the University today. In case he is not used, Maloney, a veteran southpaw, will be in the box. If the latter is on the mound. Rogers or Clark will take Gordon's place in right field.
