The University golf team went down to defeat to Princeton by the score of 5 to 4 yesterday on the Garden City Club links when three Crimson players lost after carrying their opponents extra holes.

Knepper of Princeton was the outstanding star of the day, shooting a great 74 in a trial round in the morning with Wintringer, winning his foursome and defeating Baker in his afternoon twosome.

Williams and Eaton were the only University players who won two matches, while Jones and Fleming lost on the nineteenth green and de Gersdorff finally went down on the twenty-second green in the day's most sensational match.

The summary:

Foursomes.--Knepper and Wintringer (P) defeated Baker and Jones (H), Fleming and Eaton (H) defeated Carruth and Sparks (P), Williams and de Gensdorff (H) defeated Moore and Strong (P).

Twosomes.--Knepper (P) defeated Basker (H), Wintringer (P) defeated Jones (H), Carruth (P) defeated Fleming (H), Eaton (H) defeated Sparks (P), Williams (H) defeated Moore (P), Strong (H) defeated de Gersdorff (H).
