Garber Privately Tells Faculty That Harvard Must Rethink Messaging After GOP Victory
Pitching a no-hit game and striking out 14 batters, Brown brought the Second University team through a 3-1 victory over Huntington on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. Only 30 batters faced him and of these Rothwell, who scored the one run of the visitors was the only man to reach second.
For the first few innings it looked as if it would be a battle from the mound but soon the Huntington infield began to weaken and the Crimson runners took every advantage of their opponents' errors. A home run by Cooper in the seventh and a two-base hit by Keegan in the eighth were the other factors responsible for the victory.
The seconds first scored in the sixth when Keegan got to first on an error by the pitcher, stole two bases and came home on a wild pitch. In the next in-ning Cooper continued the work by pounding out a homer.
The line-ups follow:
Harvard Seconds.--Ross, 3b.; Cooper, c.f.; Lucas, r.f.; Norris, 1b.; Bullard. 2b.; Murphy, l.f.; Worthington, s.s.; Keegan, c.; Brown, p.
Huntington.--Rothwell, s.s.; West. 1b.; Upham, c.; Gleunon, p.; Brennan, l.f.; Case, r.f.; Lane, c.f.; Norris, 2b.; Fisherty, 3b.
