INEXPERIENCED MEN DO WELL IN HANDICAP MEET

Liberal Handicaps Make Races Very Close--Sensational Finishes in Mile and Dashes -- Results in Runs Especially Satisfactory

Approximately 200 entries in 16 events competed in the annual spring handicap track meet on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. The handicaps were so liberally arranged by Coach Bingham that the inexperienced men were able to capture a number of the gold, silver, and bronze medals.

The summary:

100-Yard Dash.--1st heat won by W. H. Crocker '25, 7 yards; 2nd heat won by C. B. S. Evans '23, 1yard; 3rd heat won by J. D. Chase '22, 2 yards; 4th heat won by F. F. O'Donnell '25, 8 yards; 5th heat won by J. M. Hoffman '23, 4 yards; Final heat won by W. H. Crocker '25, 7yards; second, J. D. Chase '22, 2 yards; third, C. B. S. Evans '23, 1yard.

220-Yard Dash.--Won by J. D. Chase '22, 4 yards; second, F. H. Hovey '22, 5 yards; third, B. R. Cutcheon '25, 30 yards.

Two-Mile Run.--Won by J. F. King '25, 200 yards; second, G. C. Shepherd '25, 225 yards; third, A. L. Coburn '24, scratch.

120-Yard High Hurdles, scratch.--Won by C. R. Hauers '23; second, R. S. Whitney '22; third, W. B. Thomas '25.

220-Yard Low Hurdles, scratch.--Won by R. S. Whitney '22; second, R. F. Thayer; third, G. E. Barker '25, 10 yards.

440-Yard Run.--Won by T. S. Whitman '23, 35 yards; second, T. J. Curtis '23, 35 yards; third, T. C. Van Stone '25, 30 yards.

880-Yard Run.--Won by Campbell New-hall '24, 20 yards; second, J. A. McCarthy '22, scratch, D. H. Wallace '24, 30 yards.

Mile Run.--Won by J. W. Burke '23, scratch; second, E. G. Lund '23, 40 yards; third, R. W. Fitts '23.

Hammer-Throw.--Won by R. G. Norris '24, 70 ft.; second, H. S. Grew Jr. '24, 30 ft.; third, J. F. Brown '22, scratch.

Shot-Put.--Won by W. A. Gilette '22, 6 ft., T. A. B. Scudder '25, 7 ft., 6 inches; third, R. H. Hallowell Jr. '25, 7 ft., 6 in.

High-Jump.--Won by R. D. Gerould '24, 6 in.; second, J. M. Greeley '25, 3 in.; third, A. K. Murray '23, 4 in.

Broad-Jump.--Won by T. R. Hull '25, 1 ft., 6 in.; second, H. W. Clark '23, 2 ft.; third, R. W. Fitts '23, scratch.

Pole-Vault.--Won by D. D. Reidy '23, 1ft.; second, tie between Mitchell Gratwick '22, 10 in., P. L. McLaughlin '25, 22 in., and W. T. Reidy '25, 22 in.

Jayelin-Throw.--Won by W. E. Mills '22, 25 ft.; second, R. M. C. Greenidge '24, scratch; third, H. B. Park '23, 30 ft.
