UNIVERSITY CREW AGAIN SHOWS ITS SUPERIORITY

The University crew raced the Junior eight over the mile course in the Basin again yesterday and crossed the finish line in good time about three lengths in the lead. After the race Dr. Howe expressed himself as very well satisfied with the work of the first eight, which covered the course in somewhat faster time than on Saturday.

The Junior crew has not worked as well as the first eight, and Dr. Howe made it plain that the seating of the boat has not yet been definitely settled. Several men who have been unable to row on the University squad because of lessons, will probably be declared eligible today and Dr. Howe is planning to experiment with several of them.

Although the coaches are not disturbed by the failure of the second crew to measure up to the first eight, they feel that the shell is down at the bow and is not rowing together well. In an endeavor to smooth out these difficulties, Dr. Howe will try out the new men and shift the present combination.

On the whole the University crews have been, progressing well and the general feeling is that the eights will make a creditable showing in the Pennsylvania race.

The class crews have been working daily under the direction of Coach Brown, who has already picked his Senior crew, but will not make a definite choice of Junior and Sophomore men until after the April recess. It is probable that some of the class crews will race one or both of the University eights toward the and of the week.
