The last week of track before the spring trip will start today with a hard practice for both field event men and runners. Coach Farrell will hold competitions in the hammer-throw, the high-jump, and the broad-jump, while with the exception of the hurdlers all track men will take part in time trials for their events. The entire squad will practice within the Stadium for the first time this year. The running events were held on the Stadium track on Friday, but today is the first time that the ground conditions at the bowl end of the field are good enough to allow the field event men to leave the dirt pits underneath the Stadium.
The trials for the spring trip will be held tomorrow afternoon. These tests will not be the only factor in deciding what men will go south, but they will undoubtedly play an important part in the selection. In order to avoid the possibility of overtraining his men Coach Bingham will cut the length of the races down to approximately half of their normal length.
The spring handicap meet which will be held on Friday afternoon will come this year more than two weeks earlier than it has in the past. Men wishing to compete should sign their names in blue-books posted at the H. A. A., the Freshman dormitories, Leavitt and Peirce's, and the Locker Building.
