The University rifle team brought its season to a close last Friday evening, when it lost to Yale in the annual telegraphic match, by the score of 497 to 493. Three Yale men had perfect scores of 100, but none of the Crimson marksmen were able to accomplish this.
The season just ended has not been very successful, the team having lost seven matches and won five. There was only one tie, with Princeton. It is possible that this may be decided by a shoot-off, to be held on Friday, April 14, but this arrangement is as yet only tentative.
J. M. Begg '24, J. M. Forbes '23 and Captain H. H. Fuller Jr. '23 performed well for the University during the season.
The individual scores in the match on Friday were as follows:
Harvard.--J. M. Begg '24, 98; J. M. Forbes '23, 99; H. H. Fuller Jr. '23, 99; J. B. Paine Jr. '23, 99; J. J. Sack '23, 98.
Yale.--Bennett, 100; Meyer, 99; Redrick, 100; Schlesinger, 98; Williams, 100.
