After a day spent in trying out a large number of men at the stroke position with the same seven men in the boat for the trials, Dr. Howe last night picked five strokes for further work today. Yesterday a rearranged Crew B was used the whole afternoon, but today the three University eights will go out in much the same order as that announced at the cut last Wednesday. The five strokes who are to report for further work today are Walter Amory '24, S. N. Brown '24, E. S. Matthews '23, Garrison Norton '23, and R. C. Waicott '22.
Beginning at 2.45 o'clock yesterday, afternoon Crew B was tried out with the various strokes, rowing each time as far as the Stillman Infirmary. Dr. Howe himself coxed the crew for the entire afternoon, watching the work of the men at close range. The coaches and the Committee on Strokes followed the work until late in the afternoon.
The crews will be seated today as follows:
