PRIZE ESSAYS DUE SATURDAY

Themes for Three Bowdoin Prizes Must be Turned in April 1--Awards Also for Greek and Latin Essays

Essays for the Bowdoin prizes are due Saturday. April 1, before 1 o'clock and should be turned in at 20 University Hall.

Three Bowdoin prizes, one of $250, and two of $100 respectively will be given for the three best essays, containing not more than 10,000 words on any subject approved by the Chairman of the Committee on Bowdoin Prizes as a proper subject for treatment in literary form, written by an undergraduate.

Two prizes of $50 each are altered for the best translation into Attic Greek of certain passages selected by the committee from A. E. Hugh's "The Attic Theatre" and W. W. Fowler's "Social Life at Rome."

Three prizes of $200 each are offered for the best essays, written by a student in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, on a topic drawn from one of the various fields of learning: English, Fine Arts, Music, History, Government, Economics, Business Administration, Philosophy, and Education.

A prize of $100 is also offered for an original essay in either Latin or Greek of not less than 3000 words on any subject chosen by the competitor, written by a holder of an academic degree who has been in residence in the Graduate School for one full year within the period 1920-22.
