In awarding an LL.D, to Professor J. D. M. Ford '94, the University of Toulouse crowns a career already distinguished for achievement in the field of the Romance Languages. Professor Ford has devoted his life to bringing about a better understanding between Americans and the Latin peoples, and recognition of his work by one of the oldest and best known universities in France, is an honor to the University as well as to Professor Ford himself.
