The University squash tournament got under way yesterday with the playing of the preliminary matches of the first round. The majority of these were easily decided, only two being hard fought. D. P. Kingsley 1L. of the Law School team and the Yale 1921 team defeated W. K. Phelps '23 3-1 and Belden Wigglesworth '23 defeated J. B. Edmonds '23 by the same score.

All first round matches must be finished by tomorrow afternoon or else defaulted and the winners are requested to put the scores down on the bulletin board in points.
