The University's two exchange professors to the Western colleges have been appointed for 1923, it was announced yesterday. They are Professor W. E. Hocking '01 of the philosophy department who will lecture at Carleton, Beloit, and Grinnell Colleges, and Professor A. M. Tozzer '00, Chairman of the department of anthropology, who will visit Knox, Colorado and Pomona Colleges. This year the University representatives in the West are Professors W. G. Howard '91 and R. H. Lord '06.
W. F. Osgood '96, professor of mathematics, has been appointed acting dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences for the second half-year, to take the place of Dean C. H. Haskins '08, while the latter is on leave of absence.
