ST. MICHAEL'S QUINTET FALLS BEFORE CRIMSON

In the opening game of the season last night, the University five swamped St. Michael's quintet by a score of 52-31. captain Gordon's long shots combined with Lowenthal's fast floor-work and accurate passing made an effective scoring machine, these two men making 35 of the University's 52 points.

The game began with a great deal of dribbling, but the Crimson later opened up a fast passing game with Gordon and Lowenthal starring. Near the end of the first half Black, playing well at right guard, was forced to leave the contest on account of four personal fouls. He was replaced by Rudofsky, a member of last year's team.

In the second half there was a let-up until Sipp replaced Miller at center and made three baskets in quick succession. With three minutes to play Coach Wachter sent in his entire second team, which turned back a final rally by St. Michael's.
