CERCLE FRANCAIS GIVES PLAY THIS EVENING

Tonight at 8 o'clock the Cercle Francais will give its first production of "Le Coeur Dispose" by Francis de Croisset at Jordan Hall, Boston.

"Le Coeur Dispose" was very favouably received by the Paris critics when it was first produced at the Comedie Francaise Theatre in 1912; they recognized it as the first play to treat successfully the career of a middle class Frenchman of the present day. Its significance lay in the novelty of the theme, comparatively new to the French stage.

The plot is straight forward and uninvolved. Robert Levaltier, a young secretary, saves his employer from bankruptcy and thereby wins the hand of his daughter, Helene. This is the foundation of an exceptionally brilliant dialogue to the excellence of which may be attributed the success of the whole play.

There will be a second and last performance at the same place 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, December 18.
