DEBATE SUBJECT OF INTERALLIED DEBTS

Definite announcement that a debate with the University of Pittsburg would be held on January 13 and that the subject for debate would be the question of Interallied debts was made yesterday by the Debating Council. The wording of the subject is as follows: "Resolved, that the United States should enter into an agreement with the former Allied Nations for the mutual cancellation of Interallied war debts."

The University Debating Council has accepted this proposition submitted by the University of Pittsburg, and has chosen to debate on the negative. The trials for this debate will be held on Monday evening, December 18, and from the six men retained at the trials a team will be selected to make the Pittsburg trip.

C. H. Whelden, tutor in the department of History, Government and Economics will act as the coach for the University team.

The same resolution will constitute the subject of the Freshman debates with Exeter and Middlesex. These debates will be held on January 12 at the respective schools.

R. S. Fanning '23 has been chosen to coach the two 1926 teams, and at the trials to be held one week from today on December 18, he will retain nine men from whom six will be selected in the course of the following weeks as speakers.

All students in the College, including members of the Class of 1926, are eligible for the University team.
