CRIMSON COMPETITION TO START NEXT TUESDAY

Sophomore and Freshman Candidates Will Begin Work for News and Photographic Departments--Will be Last Opportunity for '25 Men

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The last competition open to members of the class of 1925 and the first one for members of the class of 1926 for the News and Photographic departments of the CRIMSON will start next Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock, with a meeting of candidates in the Crimson Building, 14 Plympton street.

At this first meeting, the heads of the two departments will explain the work and the system of giving credit. The competitions will last about 11 weeks, with no work during Christmas vacation. Ample time will also be allowed candidates during the mid-year period to prepare for their examinations.

Previous Experience Unnecessary

No previous journalistic experience is necessary for the news competition, which will be run on a point basis. Twice as much credit will be given for scoops as for assignments. Successful candidates will be elected to the board, and will be eligible for the higher executive positions in their Junior and Senior years.

Men competing for positions on the photographic board, will be given oppor

tunities to use the CRIMSON's excellent dark room equipment. Since candidates take pictures connected with all University activities, they also will come into touch with undergraduate and graduate school interests, especially with men on the athletic teams
